One of the two contemporary art museums of the New National Museum of Monaco, Villa Paloma is as much a destination for history buffs as it is for art enthusiasts. Built during the early 1900’s, the villa withstood severe damage during World War II. Today the museum hosts two carefully-curated exhibitions each year; a recent show highlighted the work of Russian contemporary artist Erik Bulatov, who developed his graphic, cryptic style to skirt the restrictions put on artists during the Soviet regime.
