Review

Safari outfitter andBeyond relocates this semi-permanent tented camp around the Serengeti three times a year to follow the Great Migration, guaranteeing guests optimal game viewing. Comprised of two identical campsites, each camp has only nine guest tents and one common living and dining tent, as well as a central fire pit where guests congregate in the evenings to share stories of their safari drives that day.  A visit here provides a truly intimate and off-the-grid safari experience for travelers seeking a luxurious yet authentic Tanzanian adventure.

Upon arrival, guests will take note of the perfect balance of luxury and restraint that has been struck in the design of the camp. Common areas and guest tents are fresh in feel and well appointed in a subdued, neutral palette, with elegant brass accents. The guest tents feature en-suite bathrooms with water basins and flush toilets and outdoor bucket showers are filled with hot water upon demand.

Newcomers will immediately feel at home thanks to the warm and welcoming staff, all of whom are truly committed to making every stay at the camp memorable. Small but special touches such as perfectly made cocktails, speedy laundry service and hot water bottles that await you under your covers in the evenings will stay with you long after you’ve returned home, as will the simple but delicious barbeque dinners that can be enjoyed under the Serengeti stars.

As a mobile camp that picks up and moves location every three months, there are no permanent features such as tent platforms, a swimming pool or reliable wifi. It is, however, an incredibly unique and memorable way to experience a Tanzanian safari.

Who Should Stay

Adventurist safari goers who seek best-in-class game viewing in the Serengeti and will appreciate the authenticity of a mobile, tented camp experience with rustic charm and luxurious touches. Those who require five-star amenities like spa services, a gym or reliable WiFi would be happier at permanent camp.
