The name may imply dull exhibits, but because of the dynamic nature of the city’s growth, it is fascinating to see what lies ahead. The slogans emblazoned throughout, like “Better City, Better Life,” certainly aim to put you in an urban frame of mind. The model of Shanghai as it’s expected to look in 2020 is done on a 1:2,000 scale, making it the largest ever built. Some locals learned that their homes were slated for demolition from the show, and many people visit before buying real estate to evaluate the future of the neighborhood. This is one of Shanghai's best, most visited and interesting museums. Closed Monday.
