Review

Tucked away on its own private peninsula within the Bay de Grand Cul-de-Sac nature preserve on the island’s northeast side, the much-anticipated Rosewood Le Guanahani, has distinct Caribbean beach house vibes, courtesy Luis Pons Design Lab. The softened palette of yellow and turquoise is meant to evoke the sun and sea, while the lavender touches pay homage to the South of France.

The private location (on 18 acres) is hard to beat, nestled between two beaches lined with palapas. And with a slightly more residential feel, the resort optimizes the ocean views of Marigot Bay from many of the accommodations. Among the 66 accommodations, there are 25 different categories, ranging from the ocean bay rooms with a private pool perfect for couples to 2- and 3-bedroom suites, a great choice for families.

Among the many on-property facilities are two outdoor pools, an expansive spa, fitness center, tennis and complimentary water sports, including kayaking, paddle boarding, and snorkeling ensure guests have plenty to do at their leisure. And for those so inclined, the property also has access to its own hiking trail steps from the beach. Because of the many on-property activities, Rosewood Le Guanahani is a great option for families and has an Explorer’s Club with daily activities for kids ages four to eleven.

There are five different dining spaces—a living room, terrace and open kitchen, plus the pool and sun deck. Beach House St. Barths will remind you of a European beach club and serves Mediterranean-inspired mezze dishes family-style, with notes of Africa and southern Europe and a focus on healthy, simple cuisine. There’s also a chic shop by the Beach House next to the pool, with an edit of French brands for women.
