While Turks and Caicos’ most famous beach is surely Grace Bay, Long Bay is a less developed but beautiful stretch of sand lapped by turquoise waves on the Caribbean side of the island. The Shore Club, which opened in early 2017, brings fresh-faced, chic luxury to this stunning beach and is the island’s newest five-star retreat.

The lush, tropically landscaped property houses two beachfront towers and six villas. The chic décor throughout melds Caribbean flair with colonial-era elegance. The rooms are light-filled and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies and a color palette of white, sea-green, coral and baby blue. Assembled in the breezy rooms are stylish accents like large beach photographs and sea-inspired ceramics. The top accommodation in the towers is the sprawling executive penthouse, which boasts two huge living rooms and a full gourmet kitchen. The penthouse’s floor-to-ceiling windows open onto two massive terraces, one that seems to cantilever over the sea and another that boasts an elevated hot tub. For families looking for even more space, the six-bedroom beachfront villas offer privacy with their own pools and beach access and can be booked with three, four or five bedrooms as well.

Most travelers come to Turks and Caicos to relax, and The Shore Club offers plenty of opportunities to do just that. The property boasts four swimming pools: one located adjacent to the breezy SeaGrapes restaurant, an adults-only beachfront pool, the Colonnade pool with pool swings and private cabanas, and a lap pool next to the fitness center and yoga pavilion. However, many choose to lounge on the picturesque beach (it is beautiful but narrower than Grace Bay, and the shallow water is not quite as calm.) You can watch windsurfers and kite surfers skirt along the waves with their brightly colored sails or partake in a slew of complimentary water activities, such as snorkeling, sea kayaking, paddle boarding and hobie cat sailing. The Shore Club’s yacht is also available for private charter. For wellness seekers, the Dune Spa is set in beautiful beachside pavilions and offers a range of sea-inspired treatments. There are also daily yoga classes for an additional fee. Active types can exercise in the state-of-the-art fitness center or play tennis at the hotel’s court. Young guests are kept entertained with fun beach activities and art and crafts at the kids’ club.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Sui-Ren, serves Peruvian and Japanese cuisine in a stylish alfresco setting that is romantically lit by lanterns at night. A more casual meal can be enjoyed at beachfront SeaGrapes or at the poolside Colonnade. The sleek Rope Bar, with its dramatic rope light fixture, is a glamorous spot for a cocktail.
