Café Konditori Fürst
Opened in 1884 by Paul Fürst, Café Konditorei Fürst is home to the original—and the best—Mozartkugel, the delicious treat of pistachio marzipan, nougat and dark chocolate named for Salzburg’s favorite son. Following the original, award-winning recipe, Mozartkugel are still handmade daily in-house. In addition, the café offers coffee specials, assorted chocolates, Austrian pastries and other delicacies.
Schatz-Konditorei
Tucked into a passageway off of the Getreidegasse, this confectionery produces excellent pastries in the most charming of atmospheres. All senses are delighted upon entering this treasure of a café—the aromas, the music, the charm of the staff and the talent of master confectioner Erich Winkler make this a stop not to be missed. There are a few tables for enjoying some chocolate poppy cake or raspberry soufflé and a cup of coffee, but these treats will be just as delectable if eaten at home.
