To create what would become Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain three neighboring three-star hotels were merged into one very special, cohesive five-star hotel. These improvements have not come at the expense of the charm that loyal Left Bank patrons have always sought: a sense of Parisian history and style. With a lovely corner bistro and bar connecting to the lobby, this 21st-century property perfectly suits its surroundings in the heart of the Left Bank, while offering many of the modern amenities that the area’s charming hotels have lacked such as room service, a spa, a gym and decent-sized bathrooms.

Most of the property’s 47 rooms were fully renovated during 2020-2022 by Didier Benderli and his team from the Kerylos Interieurs, and showcase clean, modern lines. There are some rooms that were last renovated in 2016, with a slightly more traditional feel and black and white photography. Almost unheard of on the Left Bank, most of the bathrooms include both a tub and a shower. Nine generously proportioned Junior Suites have views over Rue du Pré-aux-Clercs and/or the Rue de l'Université, with a private entrance hall, a separate toilet and large bathroom. These suites are offer connecting room options that can accommodate up to a group of eight, which is very rare in Paris.

Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain’s serene Spa des Pres offers a luxe retreat after a busy day sight-seeing. Part of the rebranding from Le Saint to Pavillon Faubourg involved creating a new indoor pool, which required excavating 13 tons of earth. The spa also offers a fitness room, meditation room, two massage rooms and a hammam.

The bistro Les Parisiens is a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, with a menu featuring French favorites such as beef tartare and foi gras. At the bar, with its wood paneling and gold accents, live jazz music also attracts a crowd of Parisians and out-of-towners. Guests can also relax by the fireplace in a pleasant lounge area with fabric-paneled walls.
