L'Ambroisie, Place des Vosges, Paris, France
A location on the ultra-romantic Place des Vosges, an antiques-stuffed interior and one of the city's most expensive menus have divided foodies over whether a meal at this Michelin three star is really worth the price tag. The menu changes seasonally—in fall, for instance, you can get lobster fricassée with chestnuts served in a pumpkin purée—and the emphasis in on fresh ingredients and taste rather than, as is the case at some of France’s more cutting-edge fusion restaurants, dramatic, over-the-top presentations.
