This small but well-funded gallery hosts three themed exhibitions every year that range from ancient works and decorative art to modern studies in design, photography and science. They are always extremely well curated and have included everything from illuminated manuscripts (Unesco World Heritage treasures that had never been in one room together before) to a show about Walt Disney’s imagery and its roots in European art. The exhibits can easily be viewed within a couple of hours, and the museum is well located near Bayerischer Hof and Fuenf Hoefe, a mall where travelers can enjoy some post-museum shopping or coffee. Open daily.
