Al Bocconcino
This casual pizzeria serves excellent pizza and seafood dishes in the small Piazza Garibaldi located in the center of town. With an easy going, family-friendly dining room and tables in the piazza outside, Bocconcino is popular with both locals and tourists. The restaurant, always crowded for lunch and dinner, does not accept reservations so expect quick service and a fast turn-around. The interplay of pizza, seafood and dessert is creative and well worth the rush.
Alex Ristorante Enoteca
This elegant restaurant in the well-known art town of Pietrasanta is a ten-minute drive outside of Forte dei Marmi but well worth the effort for those who have several nights in the area. The setting is chic with ethnic design influences and the food is excellent, offering a variety of seafood dishes and grilled specialties. There is also an impressive wine list.
Bagno Dalmazia Beach Restaurant
Dalmazia, the beach club for the nearby hotel Principe is one of the more buzzy and elegant beach clubs in town. Tables at the beach restaurant are scattered throughout an open-air veranda that sits directly on the sand, boasting sweeping views of the sea. The menu consists of local Italian specialties with a natural emphasis on fresh seafood. Beyond the restaurant, guests can enjoy private, full service cabanas and gazebos for a day at the beach.
Bistrot
This family-run, Michelin-starred restaurant is one of the most popular in Forte dei Marmi, serving excellent Versilian dishes in a relaxed seaside atmosphere. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and offers a menu of meat and fish prepared in an open kitchen, which features two wood-fire ovens. With excellent and personalized service and delicately prepared dishes, Bistrot is a palpable labor of love.
Fratellini’s
The brainchild of brothers David and Marco Vaiani (of Bistrot and Osteria del Mare), Fratellini’s offers Asian-Italian fusion in the form of raw fish, exotic seasonings and tableside cooking. Make a stop after a day of shopping or strolling the pier for an inventive cocktail mixed by restaurant manager Andrea and enjoy light seafood dishes in the buzzy atmosphere.
Gelateria Cervino
Off the main drag of Forte dei Marmi, Gelateria Cervino is always packed around 4pm. As usual in Italy, the gelato is creamy and decadent. Flavors like tiramisu, ricotta and biscottino are made in small batches so you can be sure they're fresh.
Trattoria Tre Stelle
Located on one of the most desirable pedestrian streets in the town center, the famed Trattoria Tre Stelle offers a charming indoor wine cellar dining room and lovely al fresco seating on the promenade, perfect for people watching in the evening. The menu offers a variety of curated Tuscan dishes with an emphasis on seafood. The food is excellent, the service top notch and the wine list extensive.
