Review
From the outside, J.K. Roma appears to be a well-maintained apartment building—but walk in, and it's as if you've arrived at the home of that effortlessly chic friend whose style is eclectically fresh, smart, classic. Only a five minute walk from the Spanish Steps, this secluded hideaway has the same chic but welcoming atmosphere that has made its sister properties two of Italy’s most popular boutique choices (in Capri and Paris). And the light-filled library and sitting room at JK Cafe make it a great spot to linger for a coffee or lunch, even if you aren’t a guest of the property.
Michele Bonan, the designer of the two other outposts, has done it again, using a palate ranging from ivory to brunello, vintage furniture, four poster beds, and Massimo Listri photos, alongside Italian marble–striped bathrooms. Classic Rooms are quite small, so opt for a superior category room or higher. JK Masters, with a separate living room, are a good choice for families with kids in tow, or bigger parties. Soaring ceilings create a sense of space throughout, and all of the hotel's rooms feature bathrooms with double vanities. While JK’s accommodations feature the chic design found throughout the property, the rooms are generally not very large, so speak to an Indagare Travel Specialist about which category is best for you.
Amenities include an excellent included breakfast with fresh baked goods and complimentary Wi-Fi, bottled water and soft drinks. Of the common areas, the book-lined library is one of our favorite spots in Rome. On Friday and Saturday nights, expect a small, but lively scene to gather by the bar. For something quieter, retreat to the main living room area, by the fireplace with a book from the well-curated lobby library.
Who Should Stay
Well-heeled couples and families with older children. Those looking for a five star that’s more intimate than the city grand dames.
