A bar since the 1970s, Café de Klepel became a full-on restaurant in 2013. Now the neighborhood bistro is one of the most charming places to dine in the posh Jordaan, especially for those looking for classic fare and a lovely wine list. Recognizable by its yellow-and-white striped awning, the tiny eatery offers a prix fixe menu (three or four courses) that must be ordered ahead of time. The bar is equally charming and guests dining here can choose from a selection of light snacks like oysters, cheese platters and charcuterie. The atmospheric interior, featuring vintage details and a stuffed boar head on one wall, is the perfect place to indulge in seasonal cuisine like asparagus with salmon, popcorn and quinoa and a light dessert of chocolate mousse topped with crème anglaise.
