Noordermarkt

Noordermarkt 46, 1015 NA Amsterdam, Netherlands

See Website

In 1987, the owner of Winkel43, Adri Vallentin, set up nine food stalls on the Noordermarkt square in front of his restaurant with the hope of drawing passerby into his restaurant. Decades later, Vallentin’s effort has grown into one of the most popular weekend markets in Amsterdam. Open only on Saturdays, the Noordermarkt is part farmers market, part flea market, and an attraction for visitors as well as locals. Among the goods on offer are organic cheeses, biological eggs, flowers and freshly made pancakes, as well as an assortment of curiosities like antiques, LP records and home accessories.
