Runde Bird Island
A must-visit for bird lovers, Runde has the widest variety of sea bird species in Scandinavia. While the island has only 150 permanent bird residents, the population swells to more than 500,000 between February and August, including puffin, skua and eagle. The island, nicknamed Treasure Island, is also a destination for divers, thanks to the 1725 shipwreck of the Dutch ship Akerendam, which left gold strewn along the ocean floor. The best way to visit the island is via high-speed RIB boat; contact Indagare to arrange a tour.
