Bains des Pâquis

One of the most popular attractions in Geneva, Les Bains Des Pâquis has outdoor baths in the summer and saunas in the winter directly on Lake Geneva. Visitors can swim in the pools or relax beachside with plenty of add-ons like massages, hammam appointments, yoga and taï-chi. The restaurant onsite serves seasonal cuisine—highlights include fondue in the winter months and refreshing lemonade in the summer.

Bejart Dance Company

Founded by Maurice Bejart, the Bejart Ballet School is renowned worldwide as one of the best dance programs in Europe. Young dancers flock from around the world to enroll in the hopes of being picked up by a professional dance company upon graduation. Representing 18 nationalities, with approximately 40 students at a time, this eclectic group practices all forms of dance, from classical ballet to modern interpretations. The level of talent of the students is extraordinary, and tickets to a performance or rehearsal are highly recommended.

Boat Ride on Lake Zurich

Climbing

Whether you are interested in a full day climb up the snowy mountains of Brighthorn or Pollux or a few hours on the rocky outcrops at Rotenboden, Zermatt has both beginner and advanced climbing options (the Breithorn is the easiest of the 4,164 m. peaks to summit under the guidance of one of Zermatt’s trained mountain guides).

Fondation Martin Bodmer

Specializing in ancient books and manuscripts, Fondation Bodmer is a unique heritage library with over 150,000 objects located just outside Geneva in Cologny.

Temporarily closed until 2025 for renovations.

Glacier 3000

A 30-minute ride from downtown Gstaad will get you to the bottom of Mount Col du Pillon and from there, the gondola to the top of the glacier takes about 45 minutes. In addition to great skiing (trails are open November – May), the area offers a variety of activities including hiking trails, cross-country skiing, a snow park, and dog sled rides. At the summit, sporty and chic skiers dressed in fashionable snowsuits congregate over drinks in front of spectacular views at Restaurant 3000 and the Refuge l’Espace.

Launge at Golden Pass Train, Gstaad, Switzerland

Golden Pass Train

The Golden Pass Line runs between Montreux and Zweisimmen and features three different kinds of luxury trains that travel in the mountain passes and afford beautiful views along Lake Geneva. The “Panoramic” train features large windows, the “Classic” train has Belle Époque coaches and a wine-tasting cellar coach, and the “Chocolate” train, which runs only May – October connects with a bus that transfers you to a tour of the Gruyères castle, a demonstration at a cheese dairy, and onto the chocolate factory.

Golf Week

Every year in July or August, visitors may sign up to enjoy Zermatt’s annual Alpine "Matterhorn Eagle Cup", which is comprised of three days on the 9-hole course at the Matterhorn Golf Club (41 27 967 70 00). Each day highlights a different style of play and day two ends with a wine pairing directly on the course.

Gornergrat

There are two ways to reach the top of Gornergrat at 10,134 ft., from which you can enjoy direct views of the Matterhorn. In both the summer and winter an open-air cogwheel train runs from the Gornergrat train station in Zermatt (across from the Brig-Visp-Zermatt Railway station) to the top of the mountain, which takes about 45 minutes. As an alternative, you can start a four-hour hike at the base of the Matterhorn Paradise gondola in town. From the top you can either ski down or enjoy a special starlit dinner at the summit, including a visit to the observatory.

GreenGo

Ever since it opened in 1971, this cocktail lounge/dance club in the basement of the Palace Hotel has been the place to party in Gstaad. Roger Moore, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, Richard Burton, Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly have all danced at this legendary nightclub. Although GreenGo underwent a facelift in 2006, the décor remains true to its 1970’s roots—the signature green carpeting, shimmering orange chandeliers, and clear dance platform extending over an illuminated pool make it the perfect setting for a decadent disco dance party. There is bottle service at the tables and cocktails are extremely expensive—even for Gstaad.

Grossmunster

This Romanesque-style Protestant church is one of four major churches in Zurich. Inaugurated in 1220, Grossmunster was reportedly ordered by Charlemagne in the 9th century when he discovered the graves of the city's patron saints Felix and Regula there. The church has enormous bronze doors from 1523 with images depicting the Reformation and Sigmar Polke’s stained glass windows, made out of agate, which were installed in 2009.

International Museum of the Reformation
