Review

The Bodrum EDITION is giving the other five-star properties in the area some major competition. The property’s hip and sophisticated vibe is evident the moment you enter the lobby and the laid-back vibe is enhanced by seaside views and a calming greige color scheme throughout the interior.

Like most properties in the area, The Bodrum EDITION is set on a steep hill, with the 108 rooms and suites scattered throughout. Almost all of the rooms have sea views, and even the most basic options are spacious. The décor falls in line with what you might expect of the brand: whites and grays dominate, with large, contemporary bathrooms and ample closet space. The main thing to consider is where you want to be located; those with mobility issues, or those who do not want to wait for a buggy should situate themselves closer to the dining venues and beach club so they are not climbing the 230 steps to get to their room. The property also has some fabulous villa options, worth a splurge for a group or family.

The food is another major draw for the resort. Diego Munoz of Astrid & Gaston in Lima oversees the two restaurants and provides some of the most impressive cuisine in the area. Foodies should at least come to the hotel for a meal, as the dishes are delicious and the ingredients are all locally sourced.

Aside from the dining options, there is a full gym, a large spa with a Turkish hammam, and a buzzy bar and nightclub. Guests will likely spend most of their time at the beach club, however, as it is well-equipped, with cabanas for rent, water sport options (such as kayaks and paddle boards), beach service and fabulous views.

In terms of the location, the hotel sits just five minutes from the Yalikavak marina. Because the Bodrum area can feel fairly spread out and its not always easy to get off property quickly, this comes in handy as the marina is filled with restaurants and luxury shopping.

During the day, the vibe is low-key (but still lively), but at night, the nightclub becomes the hotel’s centerpiece, catering to the younger crowd. The youthfulness is reflected in the staff as well, all of whom are accommodating and friendly, but Bodrum runs on "island-time", and you should too, when staying at the EDITION.

Who Should Stay

The EDITION works best for guests looking to relax in a beautiful setting, but also those wanting a bit of a scene. Those who prefer a more traditional aesthetic with white glove service and peace and quiet might be happier elsewhere.
