Hamilton Town

Located on a scenic harbor, the island's main hub and capital in Central Bermuda is defined by the charming, colorful storefronts that line the two main thoroughfares: Reid Street and Front Street. There are a few cute shops and cafés that make it worth a short stroll through town, especially if you time your visit around lunch or before dinner.

It is located a short drive from the airport and most of the island’s businesses are here, along with the Botanical Gardens and the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art. Other sites of interest include the Historical Society Museum (Queen St; 441-295-2487), the House of Assembly (21 Parliament St; 441-292-7408), where Parliament sessions are held, and the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (40 Crow Ln; 441-292-7219), where there’s a shipwreck gallery and they offer regular glow worm cruises.

On Friday and Saturday nights, most locals and visitors end up at either Port O’Call and Café Cairo (Front St; 441-295-5155). Most establishments are closed all day Sunday, including many restaurants, so plan accordingly.
