Private Dining in NYC

In a city of intimate restaurants and tables for two, accommodating a large party can be a challenge. For New Yorkers seeking a private dining experience for friends and family during the holiday season, here is a list of some of our favorite restaurants equipped to host your party for a special occasion.

Gramercy Tavern: One of the most beloved restaurants by famed restaurateur and hospitality guru Danny Meyer, Gramercy Tavern has an elegant private room for up to twenty-two guests. The warm space feels like a private home.

La Grenouille: An institution for classic French cuisine, La Grenouille is one of New York’s most historic restaurants. In its second floor private dining room–formerly the studio of painter Bernard Lamotte–soaring ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace and proprietor Charles Masson’s famous floral arrangements create an extraordinary atmosphere for parties of twenty guests or more.

Marea: For true foodies, a private dinner at Michael White’s acclaimed Marea will inspire and impress. Order from the regular menu, or opt for a prix fixe in a private dining room that can accommodate up to fourteen guests.

The Standard Grill: This Meatpacking restaurant buzzes with energy from the moment the market closes, but its exclusive private dining room feels quiet and secular. It’s simple but sexy, moody and candlelit, and up to twenty guests can be served. 848 Washington St.

Maialino: A Roman-style trattoria in the Gramercy Park Hotel, Maialino became one of the city’s instantly beloved eateries. The simple Tuscan-style room hosts parties of twenty-two for lunch or dinner, and Danny Meyer’s famously trained staff do the rest.
