Prince Phillip Island Penguin Parade

1019 Ventnor Rd, Summerlands VIC 3922, Australia

While penguins can be spotted at the end of the St. Kilda Pier after sunset, the best place to catch a glimpse of these birds is at Prince Phillip Island, located 90-minutes from Melbourne. Every day at dusk, an army of penguins (known as ‘fairy penguins,’ native to Australia) marches to shore after a day of feeding. There is an official viewing station on the beach and guests can get close to dozens of birds from behind the hidden glass. Due to the limited space, it’s best to reserve a spot in advance.
