Review

Named for its dramatic mountainous setting, Alila Jabal Akhdar (Jabal Akhdar means green mountains in Arabic) was modeled after an Omani village, and its unique stone buildings blend in beautifully with the natural backdrop.

The lobby has a cozy sitting area decorated with Omani rugs and copper ornaments, making the mountain compound seem out of a fairytale.

The 86 rooms, suites and villas are decorated in deep brown and stone-colored hues and are adorned with local artifacts. Bathrooms are dreamy with hand-carved marble bathtubs and sinks. The most private accommodations are the villas and the Ridge View and Terrace suites.

There are two dining options on property, including the Juniper restaurant, which features Arabic and international cuisine. The Rose Lounge offers lunch and dinner, light bites and delicious cocktails.

Those seeking adventure will love the challenging Via Ferrata climbs or a cultural trek to an abandoned village. Those would rather relax can book spa treatments at Spa Alila, swim at the indoor pool and gym and the gorgeous outdoor infinity pool. There is a well-equipped kids club for younger guests.
