Review

Opened in 2015, this boutique hotel is funky, modern and lively. The 49 rooms are divided among the hotel’s four wings, each dedicated to a different genre of music (there is a classical, jazz, contemporary and opera wing). All rooms and suites are equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and soundproof walls and windows so guests can enjoy music without disturbing their neighbors—or hearing any outside noise.

Each room is slightly different, but the wings have a general design theme that ties them all together and have prominent lime green furnishings. The Classical Wing was completed in a Neo-Baroque style, while the Jazz Wing has a funkier style inspired by 1920’s jazz clubs. The Contemporary Wing was designed in the Pop Art style of the 1970s, with gold accents and whimsical patterns, and the Opera Wing is ornate and elegant, decorated in soft grays punctuated by bright purples.

The youthful feel of the hotel is maintained in the common spaces, with the large open-air courtyard. The High Note Skybar offers panoramic views of the city, private cabanas and a buzzing rooftop bar and restaurant.

The property boasts a large subterranean spa and indoor swimming pool, as well as a fitness center. In keeping with the music theme, there is an extensive music library where guests can enjoy coffee or tea and peruse the enormous collection.

The hotel’s central location, next to Saint Stephen’s Basilica and within walking distance of Andrassy Avenue, one of the city’s main boulevards, adds to its lively atmosphere.
