Review
This boutique gem is set within a walled garden on the shoreline of Trogir, just a few minutes’ walk from the charming Old Town. With 42 rooms and suites, Brown Beach House is just large enough to be considered a resort but small enough to maintain an intimate and urbane atmosphere. The lobby exudes an air of sophistication, and although you may pass guests in their spa robes returning from an appointment, the property feels relatively formal.
The hotel is housed in a former tobacco warehouse, and designer Saar Zafrir used many of the original architectural details to his advantage when crafting this masterpiece. It feels effortlessly chic yet unpretentious, and every inch of the hotel has been thoughtfully decorated: from the eclectic center pieces on each table to the nautically inspired lighting fixtures to the cleverly mismatched furniture in the spacious rooms and white marble bathrooms.
The full-service spa is well worth a visit. For adults traveling with children, there is a small kids’ club with an attentive staff, where guests can drop off their little ones before enjoying a treatment or two. And be sure to grab a sun lounger and a drink from the Pool Bar for a leisurely afternoon by the stunning pool whose unique black-and-white tiled flooring pays homage to the Roman Empire’s influence in Trogir during the 17th and 18th centuries.
Who Should Stay
Travelers with a taste for boutique, high-end design and sophisticated properties will be happy here. While stylish, the hotel is still family-friendly and is an excellent option for couples and families.
