Review
It’s not easy to establish yourself as a new hotel in Paris, with its plethora of five-star and Palace-designated options. But the Bulgari Hotel, which opened its doors in late 2021, has done just that. A contemporary option in a city of classical palace hotels, the seventh location in the Bulgari hotel brand has shown why it should be part of the conversation as a Parisian home base. Its sophisticated design is a breath of fresh air compared to many of its more glitzy competitors, and its location inside the Golden Triangle makes it an ideal destination hotel for nearly any Paris itinerary.
The Bulgari has a boutique feel, with only 76 rooms and suites. The handsome décor—marble, silk, granite and eucalyptus woodwork—creates a zen-like environment in the City of Lights. Bulgari’s entry level rooms are some of the largest in the city, starting around 450 square-feet, while the larger suites leave any guest feeling like royalty with 24/7 butler service. The star of the show is the 4,300 square-foot Bulgari Penthouse (I’d consider it among the best suites in all of Paris). Occupying the top two floor of the hotel, with an additional 6,400 square-feet of outdoor space, this one-bedroom mega-suite has unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower and many other major monuments from inside and out.
This property is all about escaping the busy Parisian streets, including at its restaurant, the secluded Il Ristorante. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served to a mere 26 tables, with the menu designed by chef Niko Romito focusing on Italian roots with French flair—don’t miss out on the baked in-house bread using three different types of flour. When it is time to relax after a day exploring the city, the Bulgari’s 14,000 square-foot spa with its 25 meter swimming pool, nine treatment rooms is the place to be. Common areas come to life in the evening, as the lights are turned on behind the stunning ivory onyx Bulgari Bar and the cocktails begin to be poured.
Who Should Stay
Those that don’t need the classic Parisian look and want a high-end, discreet hotel option with a contemporary style. Not recommended for families unless children are older and mature.
