Review

Capella Hanoi, a gem conjured by Bill Bensley, transcends conventional luxury to create a haven steeped in the romance of opera's halcyon days. The 47 individually-styled rooms and suites pay homage to legendary opera performances, featuring historical ornaments and art by Kate Spencer. The top floor of the hotel is home to four spacious Opera Suites, each with a private terrace and views of Hanoi's greenery.

The dining options on-property are unmatched—culinary excellence takes center stage with the Michelin-starred Japanese hideaway of Koki, The Hudson Rooms (a nod to 1920s New York City glamour) and The Living Room, a literary sanctuary that transitions into Diva’s Entreé cocktail after dusk with creative libations, gourmet pastries and Vietnamese tapas.

With an onsite Capella Culturist, guests can connect with Hanoi's rich culture (which is on view just outside, thanks to the property's proximity to iconic landmarks). Aside from its wonderful location and top quality room product, the hotel also has a fitness centre and La Grotta—an indoor swimming pool with a private steam room, sauna and cold plunge pool. A treatment at Auriga Spa, designed with Vietnamese imperial decor, shouldn't be missed—the spa menu includes holistic treatments reflecting lunar energies. Other thoughtful amenities include daily rituals and a bottled cocktail program.

Indagare Tip

Ask your server at Koki for instructions on how to get into the on-property speakeasy for a night cap or a drink after dinner.
