In an historic palazzo across the street from the vast Indro Montanelli Gardens and the natural history museum, Casa Cipriani Milano is one of the city’s most exclusive five-star hotels, with just 15 rooms. Interior designer Michele Bonan’s restoration of the seven-story building—which is now home to the Casa Cipriani members club as well—brings a sleek, 21st-century adaptation of Art Deco-inspiredItalian luxury: white linens, black-and-white photographs, velvet banquettes, striped wallpaper, and glossy wooden wainscoting, all under soaring ceilings and surrounded by marble. Public areas—in reality quite private, open only to club members and hotel guests—include several swanky restaurants and bars (serving Italian cuisine, of course) as well as a fabulous underground spa with a sauna, steam bath, hammam, pool, and ice waterfall.
