Review

A stone’s throw from the Red Square, Kremlin and Kremlin, the Four Seasons is a massive and stately property that is hard to miss. Commanding a 16-story building with grand entrance columns, the building expertly maintains its old-world grandeur despite its recent renewal for the 21st century.

The hotel’s 180 guest rooms and suites are spread across seven floors and have comfortable and classic furnishings. Designed with clean lines and sleek, modern touches, the airy accommodations are understated dark wood and a palette of jewel tones. While the rooms’ aesthetic lacks a real sense of place and local character, they are of the highest quality, complete with modern comforts and technology (suites offer high-tech saunas, for instance). For the best views, spring for a Grand Premier Suite or Imperial Suite that occupies the corners of each floor and overlook the Red Square, Kremlin or St. Basil’s Cathedral dome.

The stunning Amnis Spa and 24-hour fitness center are located on the fifth floor. A wellness paradise, the facility is complete with a 32,000-square foot spa and beauty studio (with 14 treatment rooms including three couples suites), a fitness center with lap pool and glass-roofed courtyard. The spa’s design embraces Russian opulence, with lavish interiors of shimmering silver and marble. The spa offers an extensive list of signature treatments, including high-end beauty and skincare systems like a Kérastase Hair Spa Institute.

The property also has a number of restaurants and bars, including Quadram, the upscale Italian eatery with spectacular views of the historical center, the contemporary Russian ‘Bystro’ where breakfast is served, a lovely tea lounge in the lobby and the Amnis Spa Café, serving light fare and fresh juices. The popular Moskovsky Bar, located on the first floor, is the place to go for a taste of sumptuous, sultry Russian glamour, complete with Soviet-era Jazz and red leather interiors.

Who Should Stay

The Four Seasons is ideal for first-time visitors to Moscow who appreciate the modern comforts and amenities of a reliable five-star brand.
