Located on a buzzing small street in Krakow’s Old Town and just a few minutes’ walk from the main market square, the four-story Hotel Unicus Palace is perhaps the most stylish hotel in Krakow, which is not known for its five-star hotels. With 60 rooms, the property has a charming boutique feel and a host of amenities like a small pool, sauna and gym.
The rooms at Hotel Unicus Palace feature a contemporary design and are bright with large windows, a neutral color scheme of mostly greys with the occasional pop of royal blue or purple and marble bathrooms. On the basement level, there is a small swimming pool, sauna and fitness center. The hotel has two restaurants, a European-Polish classic that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves dishes including goat cheese salad or beef with baked beets, parsnip chips and red wine reduction. The more stylish option is Trattoria Degusti, a chic Italian restaurant with black-and-white chevron tiled floors, industrial exposed lightbulbs, wooden barstool seating and a large wood-fired pizza oven that anchors the dining room. The second-floor terrace is a particularly nice place to enjoy specialties such as pizzas, calzones and pastas (but note that the service can be very slow).
