Review
Located in a restored mansion in Rome’s Historic Center, Hotel Vilòn is one of the city’s best boutique offerings. Opened in 2018, the stylish, 17-room property has a modern aesthetic and staying here feels a bit like being based at your own private club, with a sophisticated, quiet atmosphere. The beautiful public spaces are filled with art and have a contemporary feel, with Art Deco light fixtures, vibrant carpets and a color scheme of royal blues, golds and emerald green.
The hotel’s very spacious 17 rooms and suites are comfortable and chic, with a palette of mostly light blues, soft olive green and greys. Each room has been carefully decorated and has thoughtful touches including original paintings by local artists, a Nespresso machine and updated technology. The black and white marble bathrooms are stocked with Vilòn’s own product line. The best rooms are those with direct views into the neighboring Palazzo Borghese gardens, which are private.
Hotel Vilòn does not have a spa or gym, but it does have beautiful common spaces, a lovely courtyard and an all-day restaurant, Adelaide Restaurant & Bar, which serves Mediterranean cuisine with a Roman twist. For those planning milestone celebrations, the Palazzo Vilòn and the Hotel Vilòn a great pair for housing all your guests.
Who Should Stay
The sophisticated but unstuffy Hotel Vilòn is great for travelers who favor a more intimate, stylish hotel experience, but don’t want to sacrifice a central location
