Margot House, conveniently located on the Passeig de Gracia, feels like a chic home.
Review
Margot House was named after the character Margot Tenenbaum, from Wes Anderson’s film The Royal Tenenbaums. Margot’s cool and detached, yet glamorous personality perfectly reflects the property’s vibe.In true guesthouse fashion, there are only nine rooms at Margot House, and guests should not expect to find a doorman waiting to whisk bags upstairs. But despite lacking the amenities that larger hotels offer, Margot House provides a warm and inviting space that feels intimate and homelike.
Rooms are small and minimalist, yet very cozy and decorated with a neutral color palette in shades of grey and white. The raw concrete floors are warmed by light wood furnishings that evoke a calm, Scandinavian look. Bathrooms feature Aesop toiletries.
The hotel has an open kitchen area where breakfast is offered every morning and snacks are elegantly laid out throughout the day. The kitchen leads to a spacious living room, complete with comfy seating and a large library where guests are encouraged to peruse the shelves for new reading material.
Who Should Stay
Anyone who seeks a discreet and affordable place to stay in a central location of Barcelona. The Junior Suite, which boasts a large bedroom area and a well-appointed bathroom with a separate shower and soaking tub is the most comfortable room option.
