Review

The only lakeside hotel in Whistler, located within walking distance of Creekside gondola, this is a great option in any season—all depending on what you’re looking for. More removed from Whistler Village than the Four Seasons or the Fairmont, Nita Lake Lodge has a quieter, cozier and more secluded vibe, making it ideal for couples seeking privacy, return-visitors to Whistler or those looking for an elegant option at a lower price tag.

Upon arrival, the classic lodge exterior gives way to a chic lobby of stone floors, wooden columns and landscape paintings. The 77 guest rooms are simple, cozy and spacious, ranging from studios to one- and two- bedroom suites, all with a woodsy vibe. Every room come with a stone fireplace, kitchenette and pull-out couches, with a choice between valley, mountain and lake views. For larger groups or families, we recommend the Rainforest or Glade suite, which are two floors with a large living room and sleep up to six guests.

The dining options are a highlight of any stay here. The main lobby flows into Cure Lounge & Patio, a cozy space of leather chairs, tables and couches with a massive central stone fireplace and sleek bar—plus the stone patio outside overlooking the lake. The menu goes beyond typical bar fare (think falafel burgers and avocado fries), with delicious options for lunch and dinner, shareables for après, a late-night menu and excellent desserts. Next to Cure is The Den, serving more upscale cuisine at both breakfast and dinner—“bottomless bennies,” a bottomless eggs benedict dish customized to your wishes is a breakfast staple, while the dinner menu is characterized by dishes like wagyu beef carpaccio and curried squash. There is also a small café with excellent coffees and house-baked treats.

Nita Lake Lodge is home to an award-winning spa, with an extensive treatment menu, mountain view rooftop hot tubs and a eucalyptus steam room. There is a separate plunge pool and hot tub as well as a gym. During the summer, guests can enjoy all the wonders of the lake, and in the winter, the complimentary shuttle is available to bring guests to Creekside Gondola, Whistler Village or Blackcomb Mountain. There is also a ski valet at the Creekside base, giving guests the option of walking to the base in the morning without all of their equipment. Another plus: the hotel is pet-friendly, so furry four-legged friends are welcome as well.
