Review
This historic, boutique property was once an industrial building on the waterfront and was stylishly reimagined into a sophisticated retreat. Former remnants of its past remain with exposed brick walls, steel beams and streamlined architecture, but the lobby area has been made cozy with leather sofas, plush carpeting, a large fireplace and glossy furniture. The hotel evokes a more residential and hushed ambiance because many of the units are private residences. The 86 rooms and suites are set in different wings of the hotel and are accessed down softly illuminated hallways with vaulted brick ceilings. The rooms expand upon the chic residence design with neutral toned furniture, glossy mahogany accents, fireplaces and an open layout as well as spacious marble bathrooms. The Degrees Bistro is a sleek spot for all-day dining and puts creative spins on classic American dishes. On property, guests can indulge in treatments at the boutique spa or exercise at the gym. All of Georgetown’s shopping and dining is just steps from the hotel, but the Ritz is a welcome oasis from the bustle.
