Review

With 62 rooms spread over 5 floors, this hotel is a perfectly suitable option for travels overnighting in Aquas Calientes. It is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the train station, and about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop to catch the bus up to Machu Picchu. The exterior may resemble that of a Colorado ski condo, but the interiors have been tricked out with lots of Andean reminders, such as carved-wood furniture, gold accents and Indian textiles, as well as TVs and Wi-Fi. One of the big draws, especially for older guests, is the fact that the hotel has elevators, since the steps up to Machu Picchu can be enough of a trek. It is a particularly good choice during the rainy season, when the walks between guest cottages and the main house at the Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel are less appealing than they are in good weather.

Who Should Stay

Those who cannot get a room at Sanctuary Lodge or Inkaterra can still visit Machu Picchu and stay in comfort here.
