The Dolli At Acropolis

Inside a 1925 private mansion—which from the 1930s through 2015 housed a series of luxury department stores and was designed by the same architect who converted the Athenian Royal Palace into the Greek Parliament—The Dolli opened its doors as a hotel in summer 2022, following years of restoration work. The renovations brought a new shine to the building’s original eclectic style, which incorporates ancient motifs like multi-rayed suns under soaring ceilings. Now, it’s one of the city’s most chic gathering spots in a neighborhood filled with boutiques and restaurants.

The 46 rooms are bright and sleek with homey accents like teddy bear-covered chairs and the option of city or Acropolis views. We strongly encourage opting for the view, especially the Junior Suites, which offer a direct line of vision to the Parthenon from the bathtub or sitting room.

The Dolli’s art collection is a highlight. Every corner reveals carefully curated original pieces, such as the discreet (but dazzling) Picasso in the lobby. The pièce de résistance, however, may be the rooftop infinity pool, which from certain angles seems to keep the entire Acropolis afloat. Luckily for guests, this oasis within one of Europe’s most crowded (and warmest) cities, isn’t open to the public, so it remains crowd free.
