Review
Both fun and atmospheric, Portugal’s Golden Age of Discovery is nicely celebrated here with exotic interiors engulfing you as you arrive. Bedrooms and suites follow the theme but in a more restrained manner with high ceilings of painted leafy fronds and mounted elephant heads (obviously not real) on walls. Bathrooms are clad in marble and shower only.
Downstairs the Gastro bar and restaurants Rocco and Cru have been designed by Lázaro Rosa Violan with maximalist, colorful decor. The Gastro Bar with its mirrored ceiling and marble counter makes a great place to start an evening out.
The location in Chiado is excellent, putting guests at the heart of Lisbon’s best shops and restaurants, theaters and bars.
