The legendary Oberoi Hotel has been a social fixture in New Delhi for local elite and celebrities since its debut in 1965. Now, following a $100 million renovation, the Oberoi has reopened as a fresh, contemporary iteration of its previous self. Offering posh dining, thoughtful touches and an excellent location, the Oberoi is a paragon of sleek, modern design in New Delhi.
Whether arriving from New York or returning from Rajasthan, the Oberoi New Delhi gives guests access to clean air, thanks to the property’s new state-of-the-art air purification system. During the renovation, the Oberoi team downsized the number of rooms and suites (from 283 to 220) so as to offer more spacious accommodations that overlook Humayan’s Tomb or the lush Delhi golf course. These new rooms, outfitted with comfortable furnishings and warm hues of cream, rust and bright blues, offer substantial natural light and an at-home feel.
While Delhi begs to be explored, guests have plenty to keep them occupied on the property, from daily morning yoga to the various dining options such as fine-dining newcomer Omya and Andrew Wong’s buzzy rooftop restaurant, Baoshun. The view of the city from the popular rooftop bar, Cirrus9, is also not to be missed.
