Review
Centrally located in downtown Portland, the new Ritz-Carlton stands out from its competition with gorgeous views of the city skyline, mountain ranges and Willamette River. Its modern design favors raw materials and incorporates nature at every turn, from the living wall outside the entry to the ceiling strung with vines above the ground-floor bar. High in the sky, guests will find the signature restaurant, Bellpine, with northwest-inspired dishes like salmon and crab.
With 35 stories housing the hotel’s 251 rooms, this is one of the tallest buildings in Portland, and every room has a view (though naturally the higher stories serve up the best vistas). The rooms are comfortable. with floor to ceiling windows, design-savvy furniture and extra throw blankets and pillows, a cozy addition during gloomy weather. Large spacious bathrooms with soaking tubs and Le Labo products are a highlight.
The location is extremely walkable, with the famous Powell’s Books and many great restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Guests also enjoy spending time unwinding at the gorgeous infinity pool and hot tub on the 19th floor. The experience is only made better by the attentive and personable staff.
