Review

Stepping into the St. Regis Venice you immediately feel transported into an oasis of luxury with a “modern Venetian” aesthetic. The soft palette of pale pinks and greys combined with beautiful art, Italian glass, and light fixtures makes the public spaces inviting, comfortable, and visually stunning. Located on Venice's Grand Canal and a five minutes walks to St. Mark's Square, the location is ideal.

The highlight of St. Regis Venice is the rose garden terrace and bar overlooking the Grand Canal. Again, the decor is cream and pale gray with pops of pale pink to match the beautiful pale pink roses. Next to the rose garden is the restaurant, Gio's, where you can enjoy a fabulous meal watching the boats go by. Throughout the hotel’s public spaces, guests can see its impressive art collection, including a Venetian glass chandelier from Ai Wei Wei and sculpture by Julian Obie.

The St. Regis has 130 generous sized rooms and 39 suites. Some of the rooms face inward, but many along the Grand Canal have balconies and large terraces. Fun fact: these rooms have hosted the likes of artists J.M.W Turner, Claude Monet (who painted his  San Giorgio Maggiore, Twilight from his window), Winston Churchill and the entire cast of The Talented Mr. Ripley, which was filmed here. In their latest iteration as a St. Regis, the rooms showcase a comfortable and subtle, if slightly corporate, aesthetic.
