Commanding the top floor of an office building on the outskirts of central Reykjavik, Tower Suites is the most luxurious boutique hotel in town.

Review

Opened in 2016, the Tower Suites is located on the 20th floor of an office building on the waterfront of the ever-expanding Reykjavik. With just eight suites, the hotel offers beautiful sleek décor and stunning views that do not exist at hotels elsewhere in the city. However, due to the property’s slightly removed location, guests of the hotel do need to take a taxi to the restaurants and bars in center of the city (The hotel is about a 25-minute walk from downtown Reykjavik).

Since the Tower Suites is located on the top floor of an office building, the hotel lacks a traditional lobby, and guests enter through either a nondescript entryway or parking garage before they are whisked directly to the top floor.

The hotel’s eight suites emphasize the views with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramas of the city, mountains or water. The rooms, which are sleek, bright and airy, are by far the most luxe of any hotel in Reykjavik. (Note: Each room is a slightly different shape and has varying views, so contact the Indagare Bookings Team for recommendations). For those traveling in a large group, Tower Suites can be booked in its entirety, sleeping up to 16 people and providing a private hotel experience. Request the Esja Corner Suite, which at almost 700-square-feet, is the largest and has incredible uninterrupted water views.

There is no restaurant on property, but the hotel does offer a complimentary breakfast that can be enjoyed in room or in the central lounge area. The suites’ mini-fridges are stocked with wines and local craft beers, and a 24-hour room service in addition to the concierge can provide light snacks and help with any needs throughout the day.

Who Should Stay

Those who want the nicest, most sophisticated rooms in Reykjavik, and do not mind that they cannot walk out of the hotel into the center of the city. Travelers who need a central location, additional facilities like a restaurant or spa, or prefer a value-orientated option should consider other properties such as the Apotek, Borg or Marina Residences.
