On Phuket’s south side, V Villas’s 19-private pool accommodations are scattered along a private hilltop overlooking Ao Yon Bay. Pathways surrounded by lush plantings lead to the resort’s one-, three- and four-bedroom villas, each of which offers a generous living area, private pool and 24-hour personal butler service. Thanks to floor to ceiling windows, with views out to the sea or the lush hillside, the natural beauty of Phuket is omnipresent. And in the villas themselves, rooms feature a muted color scheme of gray, tan, and brown, so as not to compete with the vibrant greens and blues of the tropics. Villas do not come with kitchens.

Days here are usually spent poolside (either in your own pool or at the main infinity pool), or at the beach. The resort’s stretch of sand on Ao Yon Bay is down a steep 220-step path, although your butler is always on hand to drive you down and up in a buggy. There is also a spa and gym, and personalized wellness and fitness classes can be arranged upon request.

In the evening, guests can enjoy drinks at the secluded piano bar before choosing a table either indoors or outdoors at V Villas’s restaurant, Yon I Ocean House. The menus here include freshly caught fish and shellfish, and organic local ingredients, in dishes that vary between European and Thai coastal cuisine. The rooftop bar, Akoya I Star Lounge, offers lounge seating, an extensive wine & cocktail list, and small tapas-style plates. This lounge can get quite lively, and serves as a great complement to the otherwise serene atmosphere on-property. It’s open to the public, however, the coveted first row of tables are reserved for guests only. (Of course, guests are more than welcome to enjoy meals in the privacy of their villa or arrange any special experiences through the butler.)
