Review
Formerly a Fairmont, Waldorf Astoria has overhauled this property, making it the best place to relax and refresh near the airport. Since many Cairo flights leave or arrive in the middle of the night, many people will find that they need a place to stay for less than twenty-four hours when they are coming in or out of the country. (Before this opened, the best bet was the high-rise Le Méridien directly connected to the airport.) Situated in the upscale Heliopolis neighborhood with views of the iconic Cairo skyline, the hotel is also relatively close to major landmarks. If you want spacious rooms, upscale design and a host of amenities—a full-service spa, fitness center, lovely outdoor pool and several on-site restaurants, this is now the better option near the airport.
Who Should Stay
Leisure and business travelers looking for something more lavish and offering more amenities than an on-site airport hotel.
