Belforte

Day-trippers to the five lands, or the Cinque Terre, should be sure to stop for lunch at Belforte. Set at the top of an old fortress in Vernazza (one of the more unique and charming of the Cinque Terre towns), the restaurant offers stunning panoramic views over the sparkling turquoise sea with al fresco tables built into the cliff side, extending out over the water (think Positano water view dining). While the area draws a mix of visitors due to the touristy nature of Cinque Terre, be sure to reserve a table on one of the several terraces here for a memorable lunch without the crowds. With a nice wine list and a large menu featuring pasta and fresh seafood, Belforte makes for a luxurious long lunch during a day at sea. There is even sea access below the restaurant for those brave enough to dive in near the rocks.
