Considered the oldest run restaurant in Florence, Buca Lapi is one of the city's best places for Florentine steaks. The location in the cellar of the Antinori Palazzo on Via Tornabuoni (the Antinori family used to sell its wine here in the 15th century) provides a simple but atmospheric backdrop for the incredibly well-prepared classic dishes. You descend a simple stairway into a series of vaulted rooms that are tended by career Italian waiters. Reservations are a must at this intimate and popular restaurant, and you usually have to book at least two to three weeks in advance.
