Chalong opened shop on Ninth Avenue in January 2023, a welcome addition to the Hell’s Kitchen Thai food scene. Born in Surat Thani, a city in the south of Thailand known for its fresh seafood, Chef Nate Limwong (formerly of Fish Cheeks) celebrates her roots with a menu that includes both traditional and creative Southern-Thai specialties, all bursting with flavor—and heat. The dining room is decorated with dark blues and greens, accented by the light wood furnishings, plants and dim lighting.
