On a tiny passage behind the Rue du Rivoli and not far from Les Halles is the fabulous eatery from Michelin-starred chef Jean-Francois Piege. Yes, it’s casual, but there is a master behind-the-scenes. The curtained windows, tile floors, wooden wainscoting and marble and leather accents immediately signal that you are in for classic, comfort dining, nothing too gourmet or fussy. Yet the floral wallpaper winks that this is not your run-of-the-mill grill either; someone with supreme confidence is setting the bar. The menu focuses, as the restaurant’s name implies, on charcoal grilled food with a focus on top quality meats but there is also fish, lobster and fresh vegetables.
