La Calèche opened in 1946 in the center of Chamonix’s town and hasn’t changed much since. Décor is still dotted with ski-related antiques and Savoyard knickknacks and cuisine highlights the region’s offerings including cheese, and meat and lake fish dishes. The restaurant is owned by the descendants of the original proprietor and there is a homey ambience to the restaurant, with cozy seating nooks.
