To dine at Saint is to immerse yourself in a story—a rich, decadent story where the inner battle between right and wrong come to life. Or, at least, that’s the idea. And the dramatic blood red chairs, thick gray columns and rippling ceiling and wall projections that sometimes display Renaissance saints over marble lends itself well to this thematic pretense (without feeling too overdone). But the design should not take away from the cuisine, which is Italian at heart but infused with the personality of the chefs. That “right vs wrong” symbolism hits a bit more strongly when faced with a menu of arancini, handmade pastas and fresh wood-fired pizzas.
