Sunday nights at the Stagecoach, a grungy bar in tiny Wilson, are legendary, thanks to the Western swing band that has been performing here every week for forty years. (My ski instructor told me that “going to church” is the local euphemism for swinging by the Stagecoach on Sunday night.) The place is quintessential Wyoming, with a long wooden bar, a few pool tables and street food served in the backyard. As soon as the Stagecoach Band starts playing, couples crowd the small dance floor, spinning and two-stepping to the music. As a woman, if you even glance at the dancers, chances are an oldster in jeans and cowboy hat will step up to ask you for a turn on the floor. It’s loud, crowded, authentic and lots of fun.
