An Irish chef helming a restaurant in Buenos Aires may not seem the most obvious choice for a great, local dinner, but it is an inspired one. Set in the boutique Fierro Hotel in Palermo Viejo, this award-winning restaurant features a seasonal menu emphasizing traditional cooking with a twist. Everything is prepared in-house, and the tasting menu could include a white salmon ceviche and crispy suckling pig that’s been cooked for 18 hours with seasonal vegetables. The restaurant’s distressed wood furniture and tufted leather booths make for warm and handsome interiors, and on a nice evening, a cocktail in the garden is a must. Reservations are essential.
