Arguably Portland’s most iconic dining establishment, Voodoo Doughnut opened on an otherwise unremarkable corner in the city’s downtown area in 2003, and has since set up several more locations throughout the city as well as outposts in Austin, Denver and Taipei. The original location, denoted by a vibrant neon sign, is open 24 hours a day and even offers legal wedding services (with doughnut-filled receptions, of course). The hot pink store interior matches the company’s unmistakable fuchsia to-go boxes. The flavor varieties range from wacky (grape flavored Tang) to over-the-top (the Old Dirty Bastard comes topped with chocolate frosting, crushed Oreos and peanut butter), but all are sinfully indulgent.
