Munich is ground zero for German breweries, and the many Brauhäuser (rustic restaurant-beer halls) reflect this. Every Munich family has its preferred beer hall and all of them host tents during the annual Oktoberfest. To the visitor, they will all appear similar, with their soaring traditional dining halls, communal wooden tables, heaping helpings of German food and boisterous atmospheres. The Weisses Brauhaus specializes in Schneider Weisse beers and is the type of place where the friendly wait staff will inquire: “Did we cook well?” after a meal.
